We had the same thing last year! I had this one class with my group of 4 awesome friends, and we would sit in the back and basically have a picnic. We're talking big, 3 bottles of juice/soda (we let a bit of the gas out before class of course), tea, biscuits, candy, chocolate, chips, the occasional cheesecake, sandwiches if it was in the afternoon, and one time I pulled out a dried sausage and a guy two rows ahead smelled it. As it was 9am, no one believed him, and his pal starting to joke he was having a stroke, and for two weeks people started to randomly pretend they were dying and smelling sausage.
As for the discretion, the food was behind us and as we were eating, we had a blanket covering our knees. (yes the grandma of the group carried a blanket to class and baked sometimes)
