So what if it does? Big deal. There will always be a bigger fish. Adjust Avatar for inflation and I bet Avengers doesn’t cross the threshold

should base these on ticket sales, not by dollars, a movie in the 1970's making a million dollars is a hell a lot more in ticket sales than today

the 2009 avatar film adjusted to 2017 dollars earned around around 3.25bn dollars
infinity war grossed $2bn and end game right now is reaching towards that at around $1.7bn

inflation doesn't reflect how many tickets were bought, only today's value of the tickets sold.
