Thinking about it, it's so bad when parents call it a phase.. As if that's a bad thing.. You go through a phase and figure out your sexuality, why is that bad? Why do we have to be 100% certain of our sexuality in order to explore it? Guh..
Literally no one in the developed world believes this anymore. No one cares if you like boys, girls, or whatever. They just need to be human, of age, and consenting. That’s it. The places that do hate homosexuality don’t call it a phase, they kill you for it because they are backward people
Well, while a lot of people have understood and don't call it a phase, they still have weird behaviours, like last year I overheard people saying : "that's the new girl. She's, you know... *low voice* a lesbian". And at lunch they were talking about it as if it was such a big deal.
(and if we expand to transsexuality, gender dysphoria and fluidity and asexuality, the world still has a lot to work on)
In reference to your "expansion"
Yeah, and we don't because not all people recognize those things as fully legitimate. Just like most people did not recognize being gay as an immutable characteristic decades ago. Society may eventually change their views, or it may not, we're not the ones to decide this.
