Well- similar saying include: “home is where the heart is..” and “Without <xyz> it is a House and not a home...” the basis of which are the idea that having a place to stay isn’t the same as having a place to live. The nuance is the difference between survival and living. Survival is simply the act of continuing to not be deceased where living is to “have a life.” So that person who makes somewhere home can in fact be you yourself- for yourself. A sense of fulfillment and contentment are the primary requirements with secondary ones being a sense of purpose or attachment. So if one practices self love and is happy by themselves, one is as “home” as anyone else by this logic.
