It was a contract dispute. He had a three movie deal in place, and then they told him to take an 8th of what the contract said he was owed, because they needed more money to pay RDJ, who demanded a huge pay raise. I'd have made the same damn call.

Not true, he demanded a pay raise because at the time he was a more reknown actor than RDJ. This got the studio mad and they fired him
