I’m glad that worked out. It wouldn’t where I live- or technically shouldn’t. Here delivery drivers are classified as such and due to insurance reasons the drivers personal coverage likely doesn’t apply to a passenger while they are doing for hire work. The company also likely wouldn’t have coverage for passengers- especially for passengers who aren’t even employed by them. So allowing you to ride along would likely pit the driver and the company in a legal position which is not favorable. Likewise- the driver may have additional deliveries or need to return to the store mid route which increases liability and potential problems.
