I honestly think he doesn't want to finish them. I think he's burned out and living his best life now.

Nah, I think they don't let him publish the last book until the TV series is complete. Producers probably think their watch ratio would lower due to the expectancy of readers for the last book to come out. He probably already finished the book and is now enjoying his life until they let him publish it.

I read somewhere he said he feels pressured to finish by fans (duh) but also, the popularity of the show makes him feel pressured for it to be as good. I get it, but also, apples and oranges. Then again, a 70 heavyset man was "offended" when people said they thought he'd die before he finished the series. (Fair points imo) Who knows?

He's actually always been slow between books. When the television series first started he had several books published already.
