Public libraries don’t get enough love

It's one of the few indoor public places where there is zero expectation for you to do anything. You can sit and stare for all they care. More importantly, it's sheltered. I work homeless people in a very cold city, and the library is a great refuge for a lot of my guests.

I live in an extremely hit city, and the same goes. The only time the librarians will say something is if they are harassing other patrons.

That's really nice for them to supply all that stuff, but isn't there a certain amount of waste? I get that someone who doesn't have toothpaste might also need deodorant, but if a woman prefers pads or tampons, isn't the other one going to be discarded? Or is it better to have both than to have to ask for things like that separately? Or is the cost small compared to being able,to give out one thing that works for all?
