Lythronax argestes, meaning "Gore King" in Greek, was a species of tyrannosaurid theropod dinosaur that lived in what is now Utah around 80.6 to 79.9 million years ago. Smaller than its more famous relative, Lythronax was still quite large, measuring up to 26 feet long and weighing 2.5 tons. Like its relative, its skull (which was somewhat snub-nosed compared to other tyrannosaurids) was purpose built for inflicting heavy damage and crushing bones, allowing it to rip chunks of flesh and bone from prey and swallow it whole.
