Well, based on their behavior, polar bears are likely going to go extinct (sad I know) the same way Neanderthals went extinct: interbreeding. Neanderthals interbred with humans to the point that their unique genome disappeared: polar bears have been breeding with grizzly bears much more often lately and have been creating the so-called Grolar/ Pizzly Bear. This is basically creating a new species as these hybrids are actually fertile, much like human-neanderthal couplings and Dromedary Camel/llama couplings. Pretty interesting stuff.

And Grolar bears tend to me MUCH nastier than Grizzlies AND Polar bears. Sorry Canada, Greenland, Alaska and Siberia >_>
