Fun fact! "under God" wasn't added until 1954, and the completely original pledge actually read "I pledge allegiance to my Flag and the Republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

Not fun fact: It was only added so they US government could equate communism with atheism, and along with adding "In God We Trust" to our money, was one of the most successful propaganda jobs the US government has ever pulled off.
