Yeah... can’t really say I get that one. Asides what she pointed out- it’s not like being called Matilda is a bad thing. It’s a loved and acclaimed movie, and the character was smart, brave, kind, and righteous without any particular real flaws besides being a little mousey if one considered gentle humility a flaw. So it isn’t like comparing her to a character who is an imbecile or vile or anything like that. What’s the insult? “When you were a child you got critical acclaim in a beloved and well received movie where you play a genius little girl who’s also a good person! HA!” The closest to insulting it gets is like you forgot their real name or something- but confusing a star for a character they played in a children’s movie really makes you seem more simple than it reflects poorly on them.

The main point of calling her Matilda is to degrade her in that it points out she is an actress and, according to so many today, apparently actors/actresses can't have political opinions

Probably she wrote this towards those people who say things like "shut up,or what would you know Matilda" in a condescending way. Like that's all she is, a kid character. So, I get her point. Those wants to make fun of that. When she is actually proud of that character. As she should be. Matilda is awesome!
