It's not mostly used in Bavaria, it's a word common everywhere and especially in Berlin. Fuck Bavaria.

One of the most german words is "eigentlich" which can either mean "actually, technically, properly" - that's what you'll find in the dictionary - but very often it means "in theory" and you'll hear it like in "this is how it's 'eigentlich' supposed to be (done), but here's how it really works". To make it more confusing, you could translate the "really" in that sentence with "eigentlich" as well.
