If someone hits you it's clear they've already committed to violence.
I have seen people end up in critical condition because of one hit, I've seen a woman die from just one hit.
Unless you can magically guarantee safe passage and a change of heart, the only response to being hit is to neutralize the hostile by whatever means are most effective and expedient.
Granted, that may well be by putting one foot in front of the other repeatedly and very quickly, but a person cannot be compelled to leave a place they have a right to be.
My friend had some foster children that would scream at night. Their story was the father was abused by the mother. The mother then called the cops and said the father abused her. He was either taken to jail or she didn’t have evidence I can’t really remember. She made a restraining order so that he couldn’t come near her or the children. He had the house and she became homeless. She came to the house and asked to live there again. He said they could live there, and she called the cops again for coming near her and the kids were taken out of the situation. I believe the children were given back to the mom. My friend said that they would scream and cry at night all night long and get out of bed when they weren’t supposed to. She thought they were looking for attention. Whatever happened, they are with their mom now. My friends family is now fostering a baby.
