When you're not accepted into art school and all you ever did as an artist was unambitious, un-original genre paintings for tourists without any individual signature, that's pretty much failing as an artist.

In fact, austrians are mainly just condensed germans. I get to say that, because I'm 50/50 german/austrian. Well, the austrians had immigration earlier than germany, so that's a little different. Germany, austria and the german speaking part of switzerland are pretty much the same, culturally. They all may beg to differ, but I mean it as seen from abroad.
