Pepsi products in the UAE use to be 8 ounce cans , that was 30 years ago. There would be to well recognized international products being used/smuggled illegally across international boarders with some pretty hefty laws. A can of Budwiser was going for $4 in the UAE when it cost around $0.70 in the US. Not really profitable enough for the punishment they would dish out for it

Drinking alcohol is forbidden in Saudi Arabia, certain exceptions, some coalition forces were permitted to drink on their bases during the first Gulf War , embassies ect. So it has to be smuggled or made

If they would have taken it a step further and put a layer of real Pepsi on top of the fake Pepsi they might have gotten away with it.
