Dead Space. You're an engineer, not a soldier or anything, so all your weapons are tools and you have to use them in creative ways. They enemies and environments are unbelievably terrifying

Dead Space is one of the best third person shooters period.
As a horror game it's also stellar though 2 and 3 are far behind in that regard.
