or, if you can manage it, part of a marinade for ribs. You can also baste it during the grilling. I prefer as part of a marinade though; just make sure you don't soak too long or use too much, as the rib bones themselves can weaken to the point they'll split when you're ripping the meat off, or it could become sweeter than you want.
