Doctors diagnose conditions, not patients. Your doctor has seen thousands of patients and draws on their own and others experience and training to choose the diagnosis that is most likely and most common based on what they see. The patient (or patients guardian) is their own advocate. They have the best idea what is or isn’t “normal” for them or what fits their own past experience. So you may know your baby well and be able to say “this isn’t what a cold has looked like before...” or “it isn’t normal for them to do this...” but your doctor knows their field. If you both work together and communicate why you’ve reached certain conclusions you can usually find the care that best suits you. But make it about the kid and not about you- and remember that your baby is growing and changing rapidly at this point so what you “know” about them can become obsolete in a few weeks or less.
you know what? maybe you shouldn't be cause you're obviously outta your damn mind!
