I get a little upset whenever I hear “UFO’s are real” used out of context. Duh they are real. A “UFO” is an unidentified flying object. It’s something flying, that you can’t say for sure what it is. If you look and see something waaay up above with the sun behind it and can’t quite make it out... is it a bird? A drone? An helicopter? That’s a UFO. If you get a radar blip and the radar isn’t malfunctioning, then it disappears: UFO. Any number of experimental craft or stealth craft, home built aircraft without a transponder or known profile- all can show up as a UFO. That just means whoever is in authority can’t give a positive ID. Basic science: there’s a lot in the universe we do not know. It COULD be anything, but if it is unknown, any guess is just a guess. Unidentified doesn’t mean alien. It could though- but the two aren’t directly linked.
Amen. UFOs aren’t always flying saucers, they could literally just be a rock from space, a bird in an unexpected place, or just a plane that the observer didn’t know was there
I was once ordered to stare at the sky until I spotted a UFO (I annoyed someone). So had a buddy go into the treeline to throw something in the air. I saw it, but I couldn't tell what exactly it was, so I went back to report that I've accomplished my mission and saw a UFO.
