Im going to have to intervene in every f**king war in this planet

Hey now, in America we like our heroes dead. Could Tony have best Thanos without self sacrificing? Sure. But... it’s not as dramatic if he lives right? Our folk heroes tend to go out on witty words or in a blaze of glory. A vet is just a vet except Veterans Day. He stood in line all day at the underfunded VA and can’t get a specialist he needs, got 15% off at Denny’s on a $10 pancake, but asides a “thank you for your service” most people could care less. But a casket with a medal on it and a fancy funeral? That’s a story we want to hear. Of the thousands of soldiers who have served overseas the only ones people seem to know by name are the dead ones or the ones called before Congress. Is it because not a single living one ever did anything heroic? Nah. But The government is just doing its part to make more heroes for us. In 30 years the responders may even get a nice formal apology and a statue in a park somewhere. Perhaps even an honorary day of remembrance.
