Reading more about this, I have to say that (in my opinion) the Dad shouldn't have gotten his way. The kid's mom, siblings, teachers, doctors, school counselors, classmates, have all said that they consistently for years have wanted to live as a female. The Dad is the only one who says otherwise. Mind you, they aren't making any medical transitions at this point. No transition surgery is legal until 18, when the kid is making the decision on their own anyway. At the age of twelve, you would potentially put them on hormone blockers, to TEMPORARILY delay the onset of male puberty (which is noted by psychologists to be very emotionally destructive to transgender youth). The ruling basically means that the kid doesn't get to wear the clothes they want or get called the name they want at school, which I'm not sure the government should really have that much a hand in anyway, as long as school clothes are "appropriate" and whatnot. There are so many witnesses INCLUDING THE KID saying this is
how they want to live. Again, when we're talking about transitioning when it comes to children this young, it doesn't mean anything medical. The kid isn't doing anything permanent, but his father won't let them dress or use the name they prefer, and the government is affirming that. I don't think the government should get to decide what name a child is called at school. This may be a victory for the father and his beliefs, but based on psychological studies on trans children, we know that the actions of the father are harmful, and this is not a victory for the wellbeing of the child. We have to be careful about spreading misinformation. Famousone thought I was spreading misinformation, and rightly called me out on it. I'm glad they did that without attacking me. I should have backed up that particular claim with the source in the first place.

But he was actually the one spreading false information, and he has repeatedly made it pretty clear that he will not consider any information that would contradict his belief and/or his agenda.

If it is truly reversible, has no permanent impact if stopped, and is heavily vetted by all the child's guardians, then it ain't my business so long as nobody tries to make me do anything one way or the other.
My "agenda" is this: Don't fuck with children.

Nice try Benito. If anyone chooses a transition at any time, that's fine with me, don't try to put those words in my mouth. Problem is, that the longer a person has to wait for the process to start, the more psychological and physical damage they will have to suffer,. prior and after the transition process. That is the reason the suicide rate is so high among trans persons after their transition process. This is a personal choice which you claim
to be such a great fan of. In fact, it couldn't get any more personal than this. This means, there are only three groups of people involved personally: the (minor) trans person, their parents and the doctors. Not you, not anyone else. The way you'd like to handle the matter would mean so much more suffering for the people involved, it's just not acceptable.
I've already made it clear: If blockers are really reversible with no permanent effects on growth and development, then there's no problem.
Otherwise, it's best to err on the side of caution and wait until the child is a legal adult in charge of their own lives.

Not saying you were "a fan of suicide", but if you made the rules, there would be more of it. I couldn't care less whether you're on my side but why not be on the side of confused, vulnerable people who are facing decisions you will hopefully never have to face? At what age did you KNOW you were a boy and not a girl? Do you think you can imagine what it must be like to have everyone around you deny that? Read the article I mentioned above and just as an experiment imagine these people are legit. The way things run why should such blockers be "reversible"? There is a complex and thorough screening and assessment before they are even considered. You will find exceptions, but they will be what they are: exceptions from a rule. Abuse is a price to pay for the opportunity, but you have no real reason to expect a whole lot of abuse when it comes to this.
