Porsche, Toyota, Honda, and many others have refused to let their cars be used in “street racing” type games or games where players can wreak vehicular carnage or do crimes- as well as movies etc. Surprisingly- none of these manufacturers stopped selling cars. Now- I personally don’t think there’s any direct causal relationship between violent games or programming and committing crimes- but relating a refusal to advertise or sell violent games and selling guns is like linking a store refusing to advertise slasher films but still carrying chainsaws or hockey masks. It may surprise many to know- the gun predates video games by at least 6-8 months (citation needed...) and guns have other uses than one man killing sprees oddly enough.
I’m glad there was a gun or person with a gun nearby. We can all hope to never need saving- but we can also hope to never get in a car accident; doesn’t mean we shouldn’t keep insurance.
