The power of quantum computing isn't that it's necessarily faster at base, it typically takes longer to do a basic calculation with quantum computing than it does with standard computing, it's that quantum computing can do a shitload of operations simultaneously effectively reducing the total time down to the length of the longest individual operation instead of the combined total of every one.
