Lol. In the US this is commonly just called a “Danish.” It is somewhat uncommon for the average person to distinguish between types and even among “puff pastries” we tend to just call them “Danish” “Croissant” or “Bear Claw” (which is sometimes called by other names including Danish as it’s just a type of “snail pastry” that is vaguely shaped like a bears claw and usually filled with almond paste and with raisins and or almonds in/on the pastry.) Of course asking a naughty genie for a “Danish” or even the longer term “Danish Pastry” would likely not end as intended either. I’ve heard that the Danes call “Danish Pastries” “Viennese Pastry/Bread” or some version of that. Anyone have their own dialect for these?
I appreciate it. I enjoy discovering the little differences between cultures and languages. I can’t think of anything off the top of my head- but hopefully we get a chance to talk more on other things and little variances and dialects and localization etc.
