Or.... from another geographical location. McDonalds has sold hotdogs at various points in different countries including the UK and Japan. Some McDonald’s sold hotdogs in the US, either as part of a special promotion/trial- or unofficially as franchises they added dogs to the menu. So it’s also possible the guy is used to being somewhere that he could get a hotdog from McDonalds- or the last time he went to one they had dogs. Either way his behavior seems uncalled for and rude.
