This, but with cruelty. Some people actually resemble supervillains from TV shows I watched as a kid that I thought only existed in television. Most of them aren't even people in power, they're just normal people going about their day-to-day just like you and me.
Tangent warning, but it sucks when you grow up being told by your heroes that everyone has a purpose, things will work out if you do the right thing, and good will ultimately trump evil when literally none of those things are true. People suck, you can never truly know what someone is thinking, and eventually there will be nobody left to tell whether or not goodness prevailed.
Shit that's not funny uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh peepee poopoo
The hardest realization concerning that was more of a logical, almost scientific revelation that Asian cultures integrated into their own philosophies. All is in balance one way or another. The equation balances itself, maybe not at the scale and speed of our individual lives but in the end it does. Now this doesn't necessarily apply to good and evil though as those are definitely just societal constructs based on the times. What was a good thing 50 years ago may not be today. Anyway off topic, TLDR: The universe will balance itself one way or another.
