China, Russia, the Arab League, Israel, Britain, Germany, The Axis, France, Mongols, Rome, the Churches, and literally every entity with any interest in force projection and/or self-defense?

The US and it’s foreign policy play a major role in Middle East conflicts- but much like reminders that war existed before videogames- there’s been conflict in the Middle East for several thousands years before the US existed- and for a century or so before the US was involved much in that area. Europe set the stage for both the current political climate in the regions as well as the conflicts between Muslims and Christians.

But without European involvement there would still likely be conflict- and let’s not forget that without western involvement if there wasn’t conflict it would most likely be because rival groups had completed genocide.

Israel being a key example- mandatory Palestine and thus Israel cane about through this- but Jewish peoples had been looking for a home long before, and Jews were persecuted throughout Europe- driven out by the holocaust as a major factor there. There were already Jewish farmers in the area with refugees joining- so with or without foreign aid it is very likely a situation similar to that which evolved would happen.
