"Scaphiophryne gottlebei" - also called the ornate hopper and rainbow burrowing frog. Beauty is pain, as these frogs are well aware. Endemic to the Isalo Massif in Madagascar, they are endangered to due habitat loss and collection for the pet trade. Thankfully, the latter has been made illegal in 2014. Beauty is also fading, as their lifespan is often no more than 2 years. But they take advantage of every moment by rocking out, i.e. hanging out on rocks and cliffs. Also by breeding explosively during the months of November and December. (Just like fireworks, they're colorful, short-fused and they go out with a bang)
