Don't use hot water to wash stuff like that. It basically burns the stain into the plastic.

Especially don't nuke the food in the tupperware.

As the others have said, don't Microwave the food in the container but also dont wash the container in the dishwasher, Pour in some Soap without water, rub it around with a brush or your fingers, then rinse under hot water. It picks up all the tomato based Icky that stains it.
