This may be how the first European hunter-gatherers looked, dark skin and blue/green eyes. We have determined this through DNA analysis of multiple remains from the earliest H sapiens in Europe (ca 37K years ago, before the last ice age) through the mesolithic period. This particular phenotype was genetically eliminated though replacement, possibly by later mesolithic groups but more likely by the vast neolithic migration from the southeast which started 7500 years ago.
