In principal- it would, with the present way things are going- probably be very corporate sponsored and backed. Probably not Exxon though. The energy and petroleum companies have fallen from their height and been replaced by tech companies as the top dogs in “evil monopoly controlling things from the shadows.” We like to still use energy companies because that’s the “corporate villain” several generations grew up with- but the future is driven by home gadgets and twerking videos.
