Well. She’s following the rules and protesting the rules. Honestly she’s the most sensible one there

I would agree overall. I’d like to add: her sign makes it pretty clear she believes wearing a mask should not be dictated by law but a personal choice. Believing that motorcycle riders shouldn’t have to wear full armor every time they ride or face a ticket doesn’t mean that you yourself don’t always wear protective gear; nor does believing people shouldn’t be criminalized for marijuana use mean you yourself use marijuana; just the same as Believing women should have the right to equal opportunity in careers mean a women won’t be a homemaker- that’s the argument for choice, if you’re arguing for choice you believe people should be able to choose, not that one thing is better than another or that the thing you prefer should be the enforced law.

*I mention all this in fairness to her that it is not a contradiction to oppose making something a law even if you choose to do it already without it being law. That said, I need to be clear that I’m not supporting her stance on this issue. A key distinction in personal freedom is wether or not that freedom has a serious and tangible risk or involvement of others. It isn’t a “personal” freedom if it’s exercise forces others to accept the risks on your behalf without their consent. If and when scientific data proves wearing masks to ONLY protect the wearer and not protect others from the wearer; or if and when masks are found by majority scientific consensus to be effectively useless- it would be an issue of personal freedom. Until such a time it isn’t a political issue, it is a public safety issue and is no more a valid “choice” than driving drunk or smoking on a plane.
