People have been romanticized the 80s for too damn long.
If only you just know a tiny tiny bit more, you would not want to go back, especially when you're a women (and ofc, black people)
People were ridiculously sexist back in the day (and racist too) and you couldn't even complain about it
BC back then, it was normal.
Back then, sexism (along with racism) was the norm.
I’d say those pics closer resemble the 40’s-50’s based off the fashion, but you’re right about the rest. I would never choose to live in the past, but do I own a few 50’s dresses and want retro looking appliances? Hell yeah! They’re adorable, and if made of modern materials they’re still super useful. It’s best to respect that the past will always have flaws, and instead of yearning for those awful working and social conditions we should bring what we like so much about it to the present.

So for once, open your eyes.
