Not be racist. If you were already being racist, you can stop. If you weren’t, then this message isn’t for you is it? The “lesbian rock” is a cartoon character- a real person is behind them, but the character isn’t real, so literally all they can do to try and change the world is put a message out. The character often has more impact than the voice behind it- how many shirts or purses have you seen with Mickey Mouse voice actors pictures on them?

But a show primarily aimed at children- it would make sense the message, while applicable to everyone, might be primarily aimed towards children. I mean... Elmo tells kids to share, and that didn’t end world hunger or poverty- but it’s still a worthwhile message to teach kids. Presidents and rulers and influential people, thinkers and activists like MLK or Einstein have tried to teach peace and all sorts of things, and their words haven’t ended those problems have they? Those problems don’t end until at every level of society, almost every person is at their core, disgusted and repulsed by the wrongs in the world and commits to put doing right at the front of their priorities.

But based on the response given- I’d suggest in a hunch, that this person use their Thursday nights to maybe... read? Perhaps get outside their comfort zone and interact with people of all different sorts and expand their perspectives? Maybe some sort of night classes, anything really that might help grow their mind would be indicated to be to theirs and the rest of our benefit.

You know what most racist people are going to do when you tell them to stop being racist through a meme? They'll laugh at you and keep being racist

Well... yes* in that if by racist we mean “openly and proudly racist.” Of course, people have been filmed yelling racial slurs at a person and then said “I’m not a racist...” and well- maybe they aren’t. But the number of racists who admit they are racist, or even have the self awareness to realize it- isn’t as high as the number of people who are to an objective review- racist.

But as my previous post states, it’s not so much about them. I mean, yes, with constant reminders and social disapproval SOME degree of racists might realize they are sick and seek to change or seek help dealing with their issues. But most as you say will just laugh at this. This type of message is aimed more to those who haven’t yet established a world a view- to try and steer them towards a path that doesn’t end up with them being a racist.

It is also about creating a world where it is clear on every level, in every facet of society, that things like racism will not be tolerated. That even those enclaves where one feels safe to openly speak hate, will not be safe. We may never rid humanity of things like racism. Probably won’t. But we can try. We can build a culture where racism is put in that same bucket of things that almost universally disgust all healthy minds to the core- like pedophilia, where even mass murderers are sickened and disgusted by a person who would do these things. Where people know that these thoughts are not alright. A racist should feel sick to their stomach as soon as they have a racist thought.

Pedophilia is part of the natural world- it isn’t so uncommon for animals, even primates to perform sexual acts on the young. In human history pedophilia has had long periods of being considered by some degree acceptable or even normal. Even not but a few generations ago in countries like America, a grown adult marrying a child of 12 or so wasn’t viewed as such a horror. So In very little time as a society, we have been able to create a culture where the pedophile is almost universally hated- often self hated. We shouldn’t aim for hate, treatment plans and understanding their sickness would be best- but my point is that racism is a sickness of the mind and the human soul, just as pedophilia is, and if we can change the cultural perception on an almost core level so vastly for one in a short time, perhaps we could do so for the other.
