Not quite the same thing, but you'll find that plenty of us who are against fining, beating, and arresting people for not taking an ineffective measure aren't the biggest fans of "morality" laws at all.
Would I prefer people wear clothes in public? Yes.
Would Christians and Muslims prefer people worship their God daily? Yes.
Should any liberty loving person be calling on the state to steal from, imprison, batter, kill or otherwise force people to comply with what makes them feel better and righteous? Hell no.
How about this: people who don’t want to catch it wear masks. The people who don’t wear it, if they get COVID, are not to blame it on anyone but themselves
People who don't want to catch should be allowed to wear valve masks that actually serve to protect the wearer. But no, those don't "protect others" so the states ban them.
It's a sucky bug, but it remains low-risk, low-mortality, with the overwhelming majority of cases being so minor that people don't realize they had it until they're forced to get tested.
I take it you've never played Plague Inc before.
You always want to go with lesser symptoms to infect everyone before you start pulling out the big guns.
Trust me, the longer this goes on, the more deadly it becomes. More symptoms will mutate, and by then a lot of people will have it without knowing it... until they do
It's a cold strain. It is not special compared to literally any other common illness.
Unless you think some power is trying to deliberately wipe everyone out, in which case we ought to be advocating to wipe them out and steal their shit for a cure.
Otherwise, we're going to have to learn to live and function with it like every other flu, coronavirus, bacterial infection, or what have you. It is not going away.
I have played plague inc. I've also been trained in preventing, identifying, and treating illness. I've even been on duty to identify and treat Covid-19 cases, across the spectrum of severity.
Calm down. The world is at minimal risk of being wiped out, unless we continue to panic and destroy the pillars for our future.
Yes, that's why we flattened the curve. To break it into manageable waves until the medical systems in place could better prepare. As it is, many places are seeing so few people that hospitals had to lay off or furlough workers for a lack of patients to see, or those workers have had time to make tiktocs while on the clock. Unless you live in a democrat run elder care facility you'll probably be fine. If you are worried anyways, you can hole up in your home or take whatever personal precautions you feel are necessary. I'm a proponent of valve/filter masks and frequent cleaning myself.
Every day I see that "cases" go up (did you know they include asymptomatic and recovered incidents in the count?), but hospitalizations and fatalities remain remarkably low or actually decrease as a proportion.
