Yeah realizing how much Ross was a selfish bitch was a slap to the face. But Joey is only sweet to his friends, he tends to be a dick to other gals.

Also they Flanderised his character too much. Initially he was a likeable womaniser buffoon. As it went on, he just became a buffoon.
