Yeah, yeah, whatever, everyone who doesn't believe what you believe is racist. Fuck you.

Arielle is the heroine of a fairytale, half fish, half human, and lives under water. She needs to be played by a white person because... Hans Christian Andersen was white?
vs.
Mulan is the heroine of an ancient CHINESE myth about CHINESE matters and is regarded as a beacon of CHINESE culture and she is a CHINESE person, like in "human being" so the character should best be played by a Chinese actress.
.
Very, very white person: "Yeah, that's basically the same."
Ariel "should best" be played by a white person because she and her family are usually portrayed in a way that is best replicated by the skin tone and facial structure of white people (probably because Hans Christian Anderson was white), i.e. is obviously visibly (though obviously not racially) white.
vs.
Mulan "should best" be played by an Asian person because she is obviously visibly Asian.
.
Yeah, that's basically the same.
Also, my Grandma was a Cree woman, so I don't know whether you consider that to be "very, very, white", but I'm fine with it either way.

famousone is also not technically white but he's actually Mike-Pence-White, and this board has more of those, so that doesn't count for shit. Also I didn't reply to you, or else I would've replied to you.
Lol imagine thinking someone who lives in the depths of the water could even be black. I get yes its a cartoon and yes they're a fucking mermaid. But it only makes sense if they're white from a biological standpoint, if not pale as hell.

No, she’s not living at the same kinds of depths as angler fish. H.C Anderson was danish so if we take a look at fish around that area we can see that most of them are either gray or brown because that works well for the ecosystem. If you make her more human than fish then yeah you could justify her having white skin considering the area but I don’t think that makes sense with how much time she spends underwater. She would constantly be suffering from a vitamin d deficiency. Like yeah I get that the Disney movie was set in a coral reef so they had a bigger liberty in the colour of fish they showed but the original tale isn’t upfront about any coral. But even beyond that none of this matters because she’s a fucking fairy tale princess. Mulan being Chinese is a central part of her character.
