I'd actually love that, much more useful than flowers! Although 3.99 seems a lot for one pepper.

This is exactly what my wife would say, letter by letter. And we're romantic to a fault, to an extent it would make me a little nauseous to watch it from a distance.
.
Anyway, fresh bell pepper in winter in a big american city, organically grown even, is so expensive that more and more people actually grow them under LED, In the USA electricity is comparably cheap. All the fun and excitement of an indoor pot grower but no risk of doing time. Cops may break your door when nosey neighbors report the unusual bright lights, but the look on their faces will be an extra bonus. Well, assumed you're on the pale end of the color spectrum.
Ha, I like your wife then! A practical woman! Yeah, my boyfriend and I can get sickeningly sweet and mushy too. But only when nobody's looking lol.
The prices of vegetables are a lot higher in winter here in Czechia too, but definitely not this high. Growing stuff at home sounds great, I've been thinking about it as well, unfortunately there isn't much space for it in the apartment we're renting but I'm thinking of putting a few planters with chilli peppers on the windowsill. I put chilli in just about everything so it'll come in handy.
