Technically speaking sailing ships aren’t wind “powered” they are wind “driven” as the driving force in that is the wind itself but it has no “power.” Assuming this new ship uses wind based turbine systems it’s actually wind powered as it derived power from wind but “drives” by modern conventional means.

It is in fact wind driven, but it has about as much to do with a sailing ship of the olden days as a Tesla with the first electric cars (which were replaced by combustion engine powered cars for a long time).

I've recently learned EVERY YEAR huge ships need to be dry dock and the bottoms cleaned of all build up from the ocean... Like barnacles and green gunk.. talk about inefficiency
