Do you know what happens when you impose 1st world standards onto a nation that doesn't have the infrastructure, wealth, and culture to support that shift? It ain't pretty.
Drug running, gangster shit, prostitution, trafficking. The world is pretty, but it ain't nice.
that almost sounds like actions have consequences. pretty sure speaking the truth like that makes you a racist or transphobic or some shit you'll have to ask a liberal. they'll straighten you out about thinking for your self and why its bad.
He's neither, and I think he's right from my perspective. I don't agree with my buddy @famousone on very much, but he's right. Case in point, Venezuela. For a variety of reasons they only have the infrastructure for one legal export, so the value of Venezuela rises and falls with oil. This is why so many people there resort to working for cartels in some way or another. @rachee Don't take this as an argument against your point, it's not, I think we're all in agreement on this one. I would like to add I'm struggling to understand why the onus (as apparently the person in the meme is implying) is on the business. A business is going to do what it's going to do maximize profits. It's like people boycotting Disney because of what China is doing. Disney doesn't own China, it's not hypocrisy their doing all this "representation" stuff at the same time... it's all about making money in the end, always has been. Ethical practices when it helps, sure.
Am only adding points, again, agreement.
Edit: and those are just some examples, there are so many reasons a country can be so screwed up it can't handle the infrastructure, culture differences, religious differences, weather...
As long as people can choose to work in a factory or not, the choice should improve things overall. Having another possibility besides drug manufacture and prostitution, especially if there's more than one garment factory, gives an alternative despite people in the developed world thinking that the work is too hard for low money (based on *their* economy's standards).
