The saltiness of the ocean comes from the tears of misunderstood sharks that just want to cuddle

Not that many people die from shark attacks I think we just make a big deal because it's so violent

It would be awesome if they taught us about sharks and threw in attacks here and there ( I mean there damn cool to watch) but I would love to learn about sharks. Learn how to live with them instead of being afraid of them. That would be pretty cool.

That finned shark picture is pretty grim.

This is very true. All the shows talk about "man-eating sharks". Sharks don't know what they are eating; not even the people who have been attacked blame the shark

Sharks are one of my favorite animals... after lizards and snakes and having spiders fall closely behind. They're so freaking cool. The shark finning picture made me SO sad

although I'm seeing this post 41 weeks later, I can heavily relate to this. I'm a HUGE shark advocate and this post sums up about alllll my feelings on shark week. I do love it, but I love sharks more than most humans.

Shark Week as it is now is actually very unrealistic. You're more likely to die of a bee sting than a shark bite. I would be 100% on board if the media decided to make this change.

Fun fact: Jaws was based on a real event- except that the perpetrator was a bull shark
