Overall I would say no. People can be manipulated through any values or emotions- anger, excitement, compassion, patriotism, religion, family bonds, etc. but feeling something easily or strongly doesn’t mean we have to act emotionally over logically. Manners and etiquette, diplomacy, social dynamics and politics and their strategy depend on us not allowing our emotions to control us. We can feel in a moment murderous rage- but that doesn’t mean anyone who’s ever felt that acts on it, the same as someone may be easily aroused and feel lust towards many people but not cheat on their partner or let that negatively impact their relationship. How easily we are manipulated has less to do with how easily or strongly we feel and more to do with how well we can balance logic and objectivity against emotion and reactionist urges.
In general, anyone with any sort of values or desired can be manipulated- or as I recently spoke on another thread about- used.
We don’t really need to be “manipulated” to do what other people want us to do- we just need to be presented a situation in which our natural instinct or logical course to what we want is to act in a way that suits the needs of another. A donkey led by a carrot isn’t being manipulated- it’s just following the carrot of its own will. The carrot is being led where the holder wants to go yes, but if the donkey gets the carrot- they got what they wanted of their own free will no? The donkey was free to find another carrot or refuse the carrot before it. If the donkey cared to look it would realize the carrot was being handled on a stick. Donkey wanted carrot, donkey didn’t control its instincts, donkey got carrot. Donkey is happy, and so is the person using the donkey for its nature to follow the carrot.
