Masculinity and femininity =/= male and female
Every person has masculine and feminine parts to their personality
It's the quest of the individual who wants to be whole to negotiate within him or herself to optimally integrate these parts
Or at least that's a Jungian perspective

That perspective is surely not limited to Jungians.
