TBH I don’t even know if I understand this meme and have no idea who this woman is. A Google search reveals her to be some sort of.. media person with some YouTube videos that have less views and likes than a random video of a train in the snow that was shown under hers? Free speech was never really off the menu though. Much like “cancel culture” narrative, people who constantly say ignorant or thoughtless things might be confusing being accountable for what you say for not being able to say things at all. There’s a distinct difference. You can have an opinion, voice an opinion, and people can have their own feelings about your opinion too. This is why long ago, most people didn’t go around shooting their opinions on everything off unless they were prepared to deal with others reactions.

I’m here speaking my thoughts, and now as in the past people might disagree, argue, etc. They are free to do so, that’s a consequence I accepted when I chose to exercise free speech- I mean, you’re free to call your boss an asshole too- but your boss is also free to fire you for it. Maybe your boss should “be less sensitive,” but… they aren’t. That’s the world. If we wonder why people can’t be “less sensitive” we can always wonder why others can’t be more sensitive no? Why do they have to change and not you? Or no one can change and we can just follow the old adage to not say anything at all if we have nothing nice to say. As to the argument of why that’s right or fair- so many people who rally about being able to say inflammatory things tend to behave “appropriately” when dealing with someone they need or had power over them, a boss, a police officer or judge, a client…. If those people can behave civilly when it benefits them- we know they have the ability to do so if they choose…
