Possibly a career. Arguably a way of life. It’s the right attitude. Careers really are generally overrated. It’s up to us how we want to judge or measure our lives, what goals we want to have, but in the most total sense of self, a career should be merely a vehicle, a path to a destination and not a destination. Ideally a career would be something that fulfills us and lets us express our values through our work while having meaning and giving us opportunity to grow and learn while providing both the income to live the lives we want as well as providing the work/life balance we desire. At the very least though it should be the ends to at least one or some of those goals- a method to have the lifestyle we want or pursue or passions or make a difference or so on. I have as much respect for a person who pursues a life as a cryptid as a doctor or a house keeper or an astronaut.
