That is a kill them with kindness moment. Ignore the mom, kneel down next to the kid and say "I thought you were so kind that I wanted you to have a little extra" Then walk away.

That's how you get in trouble. The mom complains and you get in trouble for giving away food. Never do anything nice for anyone

Then you tell your boss that you are too stupid to count. You get fired from McDonalds and then you go work at Taco Bell.
