I never get to use this in an argument

So it’s funny because lots of people will agree, at least publicly, that the “right” to own salves should not be a right because while technically there is a cost to personal or state freedoms in prohibiting slavery, absolute freedom does need to sometimes be couched for ethical or human concerns. But then…. A lot of those same people will reject that logic when discussing other issues where personal or state freedoms were restricted, even temporarily, in humanitarian interest. And like- I don’t have any specific examples from say… the last two and a half years or so… but I’m sure if we looked hard enough in there we might find a few.
