What's the real problem with the show. Can someone help me figure it out?

Apparently there's a lot of reasons for fans of the original format as well as for critics not to like or even hate the show, and from what I read about it, I get most of these reasons. But pinning it down on that one person makes me wonder what exactly the ExecProd and the "new" Velma (a comic character) might have in common that's so upsetting for a lot of people.

The producer takes the heat because that's who has ultimate charge over the writing, plot, etc.

I don't think this is what the meme implies.
