What a wonderful oversimplification. Yes, Israel is sensitive. It’s almost as if there might be something in the history of the Jewish people, or a few things, that might make one like.. slightly touchy to potential threats to the home you finally have after like a thousand years where it was taken from you.
But, I don’t believe Jenna Ortega is likely a hater of the Jewish people, though one can spread antisemitism in ignorance and without malice. She said some things that could be taken one way or the other but maybe aren’t inherently an attack… then linked an article to a movement to “decolonize Palestine” in which the often offered “solution” is given of: “abolish Israel…” so I mean… calling for the destruction of the single Jewish state in the entire world and the only real center of Jewish military might and security in the world might be seen as anti Jewish
The first major record of “colonizers” in the lands today which incorporate the places known as “Israel” and “Palestine” are when the Muslim conquests occurred. So to “decolonize Palestine” would be… complicated… and largely end with a cohabitation of descendants of the largely Jewish and Christians who lived together in the area before it was conquered long ago.
